Green and Gold Classic Schedule Adjusted Due to Weather

The University of Alabama at Birmingham announced a schedule change for the Green and Gold Classic softball tournament. UAB Athletics felt heavy rain and poor field conditions and moved the opening game. The weather and field issues forced a new lineup and set new game times.

On Saturday, February 21, the tournament began at 1 p.m. with Southern Illinois against Ole Miss. At 3:30 p.m., Missouri State played Ole Miss in a doublehead session. At 6 p.m., Southern Illinois came to UAB. At 8:30 p.m., Mercer met the top team from Tennessee.

On Sunday, the games started at 9 a.m. with Missouri State visiting UAB. At 11:30 a.m., Ole Miss faced Missouri State. At 2 p.m., the top team from Tennessee played Southern Illinois. At 4:30 p.m., Ole Miss went against Mercer. The Blazers had a game planned with Mercer, but that match was cancelled.

These changes show that outdoor sports adjust fast when weather interrupts play. Fans and players were told to check the tournament central for new updates and details. The tournament marks a key event in UAB athletics and draws teams from many universities, including the strong squad from Tennessee. UAB Athletics proved it can act quickly when conditions call for a schedule shift.
