Exploring the Rise of Real-World Assets: How RWAs Dominated Trading on Hyperliquid DEX

INSIGHTS | Why Real-World Assets (RWAs) Lead Trading on Hyperliquid

In DeFi, tokenized real-world assets now lead trading on Hyperliquid. Traditional assets on chain have passed crypto perpetuals. This change shows a shift in on-chain trading.

RWAs Lead Trading Volume on Hyperliquid

Data from BlockWorks shows RWAs made $25.1 billion in volume from July 13 to 19, 2026. The total weekly volume was $48.2 billion. RWAs share about 52% to 54% of all trade volume. Most trades on Hyperliquid used tokenized stocks, commodities, or other real assets. Tokenized assets now form the main part of trade on the platform.

Market Share and Broader Impact in Decentralized Derivatives

Last week, Hyperliquid handled almost $50 billion out of $79 billion on all decentralized perpetual platforms. The exchange held more than 63% of the total trade volume. Around $26 billion came from the HIP-3 RWA market alone. This sum is larger than crypto perpetual trading on rival exchanges. The trend shows how tokenized assets grow fast in decentralized derivatives.

Tokenized Equities Fueling Growth

Tokenized equities, like single-stock perpetual contracts, drive much of the RWA trade. Since June 2026, these products have taken 61% of all RWA trading volume. Trading real-world stocks on blockchains is both simple and fast. This ease draws more traders to the market.

Expanding Tokenized Asset Ecosystem

Data from RWA.xyz shows the number of tokenized asset holders grew 32% last month. Now, 1.25 million users hold these assets worldwide. At the same time, the total value locked in RWAs reached $36.7 billion. This gain highlights a rising trust in blockchain for traditional assets.

Evolving Market Dynamics

Lorenzo Valente from ARK Invest says RWAs now form a group of their own in trading. This market now grows larger than crypto perpetuals on other exchanges. Traders see tokenized assets as a new core of on-chain trading.

Broadening DeFi Horizons

This milestone shows exchanges now serve traders who want more than just crypto. On these platforms, traders can use tokenized stocks, commodities, and other assets. Such steps build new paths for liquidity and ideas in the market.

Related Developments in Tokenization

• A decentralized exchange, GMX, recently launched tokenized asset trading options, which supports high demand.
• Experts point out that tokenization is best when it works with assets already common in traditional finance, which keeps trade smooth.
