Gold Prices Rise in Vietnam Amid Mixed Global Market Trends
By Minh Hieu – July 30, 2026, 9:18 PM PT
Gold prices in Vietnam went up on Friday morning as global bullion rates fell. Local investors acted on market shifts. World gold stayed unstable because money and power issues changed.
Vietnamese Gold Market Sees Gains
At Saigon Jewelry Company, gold bars grew 0.35%. The price reached VND 142.2 million per tael (about US$5,413.43). This gain added up to 0.49% over the week. Still, the month may close with a 3.27% drop. Similarly, gold ring prices climbed 0.35%, settling at VND 141.7 million per tael. One tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.
This rise in Vietnam comes as global prices fall. Local buyers seem to push gold demand despite world pressures.
Global Gold Market Overview
Global prices fell around 0.6% on Friday. They dropped to $4,076.53 per ounce. At the same time, the metal showed its first gain in five months when buyers bought near the $4,000 mark. Over the past week, spot gold edged up by 0.6% with a monthly gain of 1.7%.
The U.S. gold futures for August fell 0.4%. They ended at $4,074.20 per ounce on Friday. The U.S. dollar got stronger by about 0.3%. A stronger dollar makes gold cost more for buyers with other money, which can push prices down.
Market Analyst Insights
Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at KCM Trade, said the gold market had a mild drop on Friday. He pointed out traders took some profit as the U.S. dollar got a bit stronger. The previous day, gold went up, which made the dollar drop.
Waterer added that gold did well this month. He said a key support came when gold held near the $4,000 mark. That level drew buyers who saw a chance when prices fell.
Broader Economic Context
Global gold reacts to political tensions and changes in U.S. interest rates. These factors affect the care around gold. For Vietnam, the rising gold prices show strength even when world prices move. Local market shifts and money changes may drive this trend.
